The jury seems to be out on this one, but here's an article from http://www.refresharticles.com/ that provides instructions on how to mix up a cleaning solution using vinegar. I am sure it works with car windshield, but let's see if it works for a dry erase board.
Dry Erase Boards are Easy to Clean - article by Refresh ArticlesDry erase boards have become very common in the classroom as well as in the business place, not only because they are easy to use, but also because they are easy to clean. Chalkboards have been used in the past, but they are hard to clean, aren’t all that easy to use, and don’t offer the versatility of a dry erase board. Teachers and businesses often need boards for instructive or demonstrative purposes, but if the board isn’t easy to use and clean they often aren’t used to their full potential. Dry erase boards are very easy to clean. Much of the marker can be removed right after use by utilizing the erasers that are used and sold with dry erase boards. While that is good for everyday use, dry erase boards can benefit from a very thorough cleaning every once and a while. There are actual commercial cleaning products that are sold to clean dry erase boards, but you can also make your own cleaner if you would like. You can easily clean dry erase boards with a mixture of vinegar and water. It will usually take just ½ cup of vinegar to three cups of water. Put the mixture into a spray bottle and then spray on your dry erase boards. After you wet the boards, simply wipe them with a paper towel or cloth. You’ll find that the vinegar mixture takes off all of the marks and such that are left on the board after use. If you clean dry erase boards once a week in this manner, you’ll find that they stay bright white for a lot longer.
