Have you ever accidentally written on your dry erase board or whiteboard with a permanent marker? ...especially in an office setting where there are both easels (paper board) and whiteboards...seriously what are they thinking? It is easy to confuse the markers and many of us have fallen victim of this office crime, not to mention the embarassment during a meeting. Well, did you know that dry erase markers can be used to remove permanent marker marks from smooth surfaces? I found a great article on it on WikiHow, so I am including it here.
How to Remove Permanent Marker from a White Board Removing permanent marker from a white board is actually easier than you think. No sprays are even needed. Steps - Scribble a dry-erase marker all over the permanent marks. Make sure you cover all of the marks.
- Let the marks sit for five to ten minutes.
- Erase the marks away with a dry-erase eraser.
Tips - This even works on some types of plastics, but not all!
- The color of the dry-erase marker does not matter.
- You may have to draw over and erase more than once.
Warnings - Do not spray any sprays onto the eraser or paper towel. This will make the problem even worse.
- Sometimes the marks will not be completely erased.
Things You'll Need - A dry-erase white board marker.
- A white board eraser.

This works like a charm. Thank you because I nearly screamed at my 6 year old son. I have this lovely organizing area for each of the kids, and he wrote on his sister's with perm marker... and she's 3years old (she asks before she uses the den... whereas he just goes first, asks questions later).
