Remember clapping dusty erasers together on a sidewalk or washing dirty blackboards in a school? Consider yourself dated.

Those ubiquitous green-gray slate chalkboards, once standard issue for any American classroom, are slowly disappearing, pushed out by a modern update: dry-erase boards and multicolored magic markers.
