before using your dry erase boards.

DO's AND DON'TS
The page has moved!!! Please click here for our new website.
Do
Use only dry erase markers.
Use soft cloth, such as tissue, handkerchief, sock, old t-shirts, etc.
Wipe off all writings and drawing on the boards at the end of each day.
Keep them in a dry, cool place when not in use. Do not store them in direct sun light.
If they become wet, immediately dry with a soft cloth.
Often Overlooked! - Wait until the ink is dry on the dry erase boards to wipe off.
Don't
Use rough material to wipe the boards. This includes paper napkins, and dish sponges, and
towels (unless they're really soft!),
Use ball-point pens, permanent markers, or any other sharp pointed instruments as they may
damage the surface of your marker board.
Use your fingernails on the whiteboard surface.
Use an abrasive cleaner or alcohol products on your dry erase boards. They may remove the
coating and degrade their performance and erasability. Do not use Goof-Off, nail polish remover,
or any other chemical agents unless absolutely necessary.
Use chalkboard erasers on the boards. They are generally firmer than whiteboard erasers and
can damage your marker boards.

|
Did you know?
Ghosting can often occur when you wipe off before the ink is dry. If you
are having severe ghosting, try counting to ten before you
wiping off your marks. This is especially true with colored markers.

MAINTENANCE

Daily Care
Wipe off all writings and drawings on each marker board at the end of the day. Any ink that's
been left on the boards for several days may stain the boards! Use a dry soft cloth.
Weekly Care
If you use your board 3~4 times a week, clean it at least once a week with mild soap
water. Wipe the board with soapy soft cotton towel or rag, then rince with clean water (or damp
cloth). Make sure to wipe it dry before use or storage.
Teachers - We understand that it's difficult to clean 30+ boards with the method above. If you are
restrained on time, simply wipe each board with a soft wet cloth.
Ghosting and Stubborn Marker Stains
If ghosting or stains appear and you cannot wipe them off with a dry or wet cloth,
try using specialized cleaning solutions for whiteboards. They are available at local office
supply stores. If you do not have them handy, you can also try using glass cleaners such as
Windex or 409. Use them sparingly, and make sure to wipe them off completely.
Last resort! - If you cannot get the stains out with a specialized solution or glass cleaner,
you may need stronger cleaners. These include rubbing alcohol, fingernail polish remover, and Goof-Off.
Dab little amounts with a cloth and wipe off immediately. Repeat if necessary. When finished,
wipe the boards thoroughly with a wet cloth so no chemicals remain on the boards.
OTHER TIPS
Cleaning Your Eraser
To avoid damage to the whiteboards, you also want to keep the erasers clean. If you are
using a cloth, thoroughly rinse them off with mild soap water. You can use any dish washing soap
or even a hand soap. Make sure to rinse all the soap off the cloth before use. You can also
throw it in a washing machine with dark colors. If you use a commercial whiteboard eraser, please
follow the manufacturer's instructions on its care.
Additional Tips
You want to wipe at the end of the day, but do you want to keep the information for later reference?
Take a digital photos of the writings/drawings. Do you need the drawings/material/diagrams
again tomorrow? In general, ink can stay on the board for a few days without much risk of
permanent staining.
To avoid ghosting, try refraining from using *red* dry erase markers. They stain most easily.
If you used a permanent marker on the board by mistake, there is
something you can try. Try writing over the markings with a dry erase marker, then wipe it
off with a dry soft clean cloth. You may need to repeat until it is completely removed.
Rubbing alcohol or fingernail polish remover can work, but they should be used as a last resort
and with close care!
